Ethno-medicines have been playing a vital role throughout human history in the day to healthcare routine. Before evolution of western medicine, for thousands years, people using traditional medicine treatment different diseases. With cancer being major threat community, ethnomedicine can significant prevention and cure. Among all medicinal plants, Ocimum sanctum Linn has certain chemo-preventive molecules compounds that contain anti-carcinogenic properties. tenuiflorum or Holy Basil prominently used as herb, since ancient times India. Ayurveda, one widely practised forms India, uses O. L. extensively its formulations cancer-treating medicines. It is either with other ingredients concoction dry extract itself.
